Writer’s Bio

WELCOME!

I count it an honour that you’ve decided to visit this Christian devotional website – thank you for stopping by! I’m a writer living with my family in Wales and I’ve been running this website with 300 subscribers for the past few years. The devotions are written/recorded by me, with no AI involved in the content!

I don’t like formal religion but I became a Christian nearly 25 years ago after I discovered that God my heavenly dad is real and loves me. Life here on planet Earth carries harmony and beauty but there can be some really tough challenges for individuals and society at large. Yet I’ve discovered that the Holy Spirit really does make a difference to outcomes. I have seen literal miracles, which really don’t make natural sense. Three years ago, I suffered a brain bleed and doctors gave me a 15 percent chance of a full recovery. My loved ones and friends prayed and it happened! I was also healed of serious problems with a neck artery after prayer. “The issue has resolved itself. This is good news. No further action required,” wrote the hospital consultant…

I created ‘His Love Frees,’ as a content website affirming life found in God despite the spiritual warfare that rages in the world. The ‘gospel’ meaning good news is tangibly real and accessible to any of us, if we turn to Jesus. Unconditional love offered on the condition that you accept the truth! The apostle Paul once wrote, ‘Remember Jesus, risen from the dead’ and I am obsessed with this reality and what it means for us now and in the future.

I am aware of my weaknesses. This includes many failures to live a moral, upstanding life and also physical limitations – I suffer from Addison’s Disease, Diabetes Type 1 and an Under active Thyroid. I have previously had post traumatic stress and a level of depression, needing help from a psychologist. I’ve also suffered complete blindness from Retinopathy but fortunately in different eyes and not at the same time – thankfully my eyesight was eventually restored in each case.

It’s easy to list ‘woes’ – but the blessings far outweigh the difficulties! There’s always a reason to be thankful. Psalm 119: 164 says, “Seven times a day I praise You because of Your righteous judgments.” As I get older, I feel more thankful for the grace of Jesus Christ and the miracles He has undeniably wrought in my life. That includes the love of my graceful wife Celine and our three beautiful children, alongside my wonderful mum and others. I am also busy working as a journalist and writer supporting Christian organisations. What a privilege!

So… why ‘His Love Frees’? Because I want to express somehow my certainty, which I’ve learnt from experience, that God is numinous in His holiness and His love really does free people, giving a hope for the future that is trustworthy. The gospel is real.

This is more than a website. It’s a proclamation that Jesus is both ‘Lord and Saviour’ and that means everything has changed. The grave stone rolled. He walked out of the cemetery. Life can’t be the same! It just can’t.

Keep hopeful!
